As the cannabis industry legality keeps changing, so does the equipments to produce cannabis. All sorts of advancements in technology are occurring. Lighting sources, fertilizers, additives, plant containers, extract equipment, oil pens and packaging are just a few of a long list. When considering how to produce the most cannabis in a cubic space the latest and greatest is vertical farming. This can be many racks or shelves, one above the other often with small plants to maximize the number of growing layers. Another technique would be movable walls or vertical gutters with plants growing perpendicular to the vertical structure often with artificial lighting running vertically as well. LED and fluorescent lights are often used to minimize space between each wall. Both vertical designs have their engineering challenges and advantages. The plant count can become astronomical with this approach, so some local regulations can stifle the true potential. Access to harvest, plant, and maintain these kinds of operations seems to be the true milestone to overcome.
At TheraCann we understand this challenge and embrace the benefits. Our solutions begin with automation and remote monitoring. Small plants in aeroponic chambers are remotely controlled for feedings, water temperature, lighting schedules, air temperature and humidity. The crop can also be remotely monitored via time lapse photography. Our choice for vertical growing is a mobile racking system. This allows for minimum aisle space and maximum load bearing capacity and quantity of growing layers. We have chosen to enclose each racking bay with its own sealed tent to minimize any exposure or spread of contamination. This also allows to control plant light exposure in turn eliminating the need for special purpose framed rooms. With all these measures taken TheraCann has nearly automate all tasks, controls and monitoring while minimizing crop lose.
